Day 1: Kathmandu (1,310m/4,297ft.)  to  Dhading Besi (612m/2,007ft.) and Borang Village (1,750m/5,740ft.), 9 to 10 hours driving

Set off at 7:00 AM from Kathmandu’s New Bus Station on a shared local bus. After a 3 hour drive via Prithvi Highway, reach Dhading Besi. Transfer to another local bus or jeep to continue to Borang Village, passing scenic landmarks like Jumere Hill, Katunje Danda, Lapang Phedi, Darkha Village, and Jharlang. Despite challenging road conditions, the stunning landscapes make it a rewarding journey. Spend the night in a local house or tent, experiencing authentic local hospitality.

 

Day 2:  Trek to Khading Village (2,020m/6,626ft.), 6 to 7 hours walking

After breakfast, begin your trek to Lapa Village (1,900m/6,223ft.). Cross Ankhu Khola via at least two suspension bridges, enjoying breathtaking riverside views. Trek for about an hour downhill, followed by nearly 3 hours uphill, arriving at Lapa Village—one of the largest villages on the Ruby Valley trek. After lunch, trek for an additional 2 hours to Khading Village, a prideful community of Gurung, Tamang, and Dalit people. Spend the night in a local house or tent, immersing yourself in the local culture.

 

Day 3: Rest day for acclimatization

Take in the views, have lunch, and then resume your trek to Pola Kharka. Spend the night in a tent, surrounded by the beauty of the Himalayan landscape. Over night in Tent.

 

Day 5: Trek to Michet Kharka (3,700m/12,136ft.). 7 to 8 hours walking. 

Following breakfast, embark on your trek through an alpine jungle and along ridges, crossing the boundary between Dhading and Gorkha districts. As you traverse this picturesque terrain, you treat to mesmerizing mountain landscapes and sweeping views of both the Gorkha and Dhading valleys in the upper valley region. Your day’s journey will lead you to Michet Kharka, where you will spend the night in a tent. Lunch will be provided en route during your trek. Over night in Tent.

Day 6 : Trek to Ganesh Kunda (4,250m/13,940ft.). 6 to 7 hours walking 

Witness the best sunrise and sunset views on this remarkable day. After breakfast, set off on a trek that will take you through highlands, drylands, and the upper Ruby Valley, offering breathtaking vistas of the Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal, and Langtang ranges. Your ultimate destination is the sacred Ganesh Kunda, a holy lake revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. The lake is famous for an annual celebration held at the first week of September. Locals from the Ruby Valley, including Lama Gurus and Jhakri (Bombos/Shamans). They gather for a day of spiritual singing and dancing. Spend the night in a tent, surrounded by this spiritually significant landscape.

 

Day 7:  Trek to Neber Village (2,500m/8,200ft). 7 to 8 hours walking. 

After an optional worship session at Ganesh Kunda (the Holy Lake) around 6:00 AM, where you can make special wishes, you have the opportunity to circumnavigate the lake. Following breakfast, embark on a 7-8 hour trek, mainly downhill, through an alpine jungle. Along the way to Neber Village, you’ll reach Timla Danda (2850m/9348ft), offering an absolutely stunning view of the Ruby Valley. Finally, you’ll arrive at the Tamang village of Neber and spend the night in a tent. We provide lunch on the way and dinner in the tent at the camp site.

 

Day 8: Trek to Tatopani/Hot Springs (1,250m/4,100ft.) and Chalish village (1,750m/5,740ft). 5 to 6 hours walking.

After breakfast, begin your trek downhill towards Tatopani/Hot Springs, which is a 2-hour walk. Here, you can indulge in a refreshing bath in the natural hot springs for a couple of hours. Following your rejuvenating soak, have lunch and then continue your trek to Kharkhola. From Kharkhola, it’s about an hour of uphill walking to reach Chalish Village. It is renowned as one of the most beautiful and hospitable villages in the Ruby Valley. This village is rich in the culture of the Gurung and Dalit communities. Welcome and take a homestay experience, and in the evening, enjoy a cultural show presented by the Gurung mother group.

 

Day 9: Trek to Borang Village (1750m/5740ft)  via Sertung Village (2,020m/6,625ft), 5 to 6 hours walking 

After enjoying breakfast at Chalish village, embark on a leisurely 1-hour trek to Sertung village. In Sertung, explore attractions such as Ghale Durbar, Phyanchyat Gompa, Chyamrad Danda, Khaten Gompa, and immerse yourself in the charm of Sertung village, which will take about 2-3 hours. Following your exploration, have lunch and then continue your trek to Borang village, which is another 2-3 hours of walking. Spend the night in either a local house or a tent, embracing the local hospitality of the region.

 

Day 10: Drive back to Dhading Besi and Kathmandu(1.310m/4,296ft.). 9 to 10 hours driving

Take breakfast and then at 7:00AM drive back to Dhading Besi by regular sharing Jeep.  Change another bus drive back to Kathmandu.
