    The Ruby Valley Circuit and Pangsang Pass Trek Itinerary

    Day 01: Kathmandu(1,310m/4,297ft) to Syabru Besi (2,380m/7,806ft). 138km, 8 hours driving.

    After breakfast, embark on a scenic 8-hour drive via shared minibus or private jeep along Pasang Lhamu highway. Pass through Trisuli Bazaar, Langtang National Park check post, and Dhunche Bazaar before reaching your overnight lodge in Syabru Besi.

    Day 02: Syabru Besi (2,380m/7,806ft) – Gatlang Village (2,338m/7,668ft). 12km, 5 to  6 hours
    walking. 

    After breakfast, start trekking at 8:00 AM, encountering uphill paths, hilly terrains, paddy terraces, and dirt roads. After 5-6 hours, reach Gatlang village, the largest Tamang village in Rasuwa district and a key spot on the Tamang Heritage trek. Overnight stay at a lodge.

     

    Day 03: Gatlang Village (2,338m/7,668ft) – Somdang (3,250m/10,660ft). 10km, 5 to 6
    hours walking.

    After breakfast, trek to Parbati Kunda, a revered holy lake. Traverse the jungle and dirt road, passing Mangchet army barrack. Reach Somdang village (2,338m/7,668ft), a quaint Tamang community and gateway to Ganesh Himal Zinc mine, Paldor Peak Base Camp (4,250m/13,940ft), and Paldo Peak (5,903m/19,361ft). Lodge accommodation for the night.

     

    Day 04: Somdang (3,250m/10,660ft) to Pangsang Pass (3,850m/12,628ft) and Tipling
    Village (2,150m/7,052ft). 10km, 6 to 7 hours walking.

    After breakfast, trek to Pangsang Pass (3,850m/12,628ft) for stunning views of Ruby valley, Tipling village, and the majestic Ganesh Himal range. Enjoy panoramic vistas of Langtang, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu ranges, along with sunrises, sunsets, and a close view of Singla Pass (4250m/13940ft). Continue to Tipling village, bypassing road construction. After a 3 to 4 hour downhill walk through dense jungle, arrive at Tipling village for an overnight stay at a local homestay. Trek graded as Difficult (D) due to pass, terrain, and length of the day.

     

    Day 05: Tipling Village (2,150m/7,052ft) – Sertung Village (1,904m/6,245ft). 8km,
    4 to 5 hours walking.

    Marvel at the stunning morning views of Ganesh Himal, Lapsang Karpo, Pabel ranges, and the enchanting Ruby Valley landscapes. Explore Lapdung village, have breakfast, and descend towards Aada Khola via Tipling village and Kami gaun. Trek uphill for about 2 hours from Aada Khola to reach Sertung village, the largest in the area. Overnight stay at a cozy homestay.

    Day 06: Visit Tatopani/Hot Springs (1,506m/4,939ft) and trek back to Chalish village (1,750m/5,740ft). 7km, 5 to 6 hours walking.

    After breakfast, trek down to Chalish village. Leave your luggage and take a day bag for a hike to Tatopani/Hot Springs. Enjoy a few hours in the hot springs before returning to Chalish village for an overnight stay at a homestay. In the evening, immerse yourself in a vibrant Gurung cultural show.

     

    Day 07: Chalish village (1,750m/5,740ft) – Borang Village (1,700m/5,576ft). 5km, 3 hours walking then drive to Kathmandu (1,310m/4,296ft).

    After an early breakfast, start trekking to Borang Village at 6:00 AM. The 3-hour walk passes through scenic paddy terraces, Deul Danda/Ganggren, Gobre village, Chhagang, and Bandare Khola, concluding in Borang village. Rest briefly before taking an 8-hour local shared jeep ride to Dhading Besi. Finally, return to Kathmandu (1.310m/4,296ft) by regular public bus.
