Day 1 Kathmandu to Shyabru Besi 1503m/4945Ft.

From Kathmandu, take a local bus or a private 4WD to Shyabru Besi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. Enjoy a mesmerizing scenic drive passing through Trisuli Bazaar, Ramche Gaon, and Dhunche Bazaar. The narrow and adventurous zig-zag road offers amazing landscapes, setting the perfect tone for your trek..

Day 2 Shyabru Besi to Chawatar (lunch) to Gatlang 2337m/7690Ft. 5- 6 hrs hike

The dirt track winds westward to Bahun Danda Pass, descending to the Tamang village of Gatlang. Known for its unique customs and craftsmanship, Gatlang is a cornerstone village on the Tamang Heritage Trail. Above Gatlang is Parvati Kund, a sacred pond and temple attracting pilgrims during Janai Purnima.

Day 3 Gatlang to Parvati Kund ,Yuri Kharka (lunch)- Somdang 3271m/10760Ft.

The trail climbs through forests to Yuri Kharka and Khurpu Bhanjyang, then descends to the Somdang River. In the valley, there is a scenic waterfall called Chukarma. Further north is an abandoned mining compound with a 1.4 km tunnel that once extracted minerals like zinc, copper, tin, and rubies. Locals are urging the government to revive the mine.

Day 4 Somdang to Pangsang (aka Pangsang) Pass (La) 3842m/ 12640Ft

Pangsang Kharka offers a stunning panoramic view of Manaslu and the Ganesh Himal Range. The meadow is perfect for camping and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. The region is rich in herbal plants and has a history of trading herbs with Tibet. This hill is renowned for its magnificent 270-degree mountain views, including the Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna ranges. While there are no tea houses, trekkers can use local yak huts as shelters, but it's advisable to bring your own tent and food.

Day 5 Pangsan Pass to Tipling (lunch ) - Shertung 1875m/ 6188Ft.

Descend to Tipling, a vibrant village with Buddhist gombas and churches. Shertung, known as the "place of gold," is a Tamang village with rich culture. Witness traditional dances like jhankri and ghode, influenced by Tibetan traditions. Explore the sacred sites of Chyamra dandd, Fyanchyat monastery, and Sajyat. Enjoy stunning views of Lapsang Karpo, Ganesh Himal, and Ganesh II and III from this picturesque village.

Day 6 Visit Hot Springs (2 ½ hrs walk) and trek back Chalish Gaon 1674m/ 5505Ft.

After breakfast, trek to Chalish village (30 minutes) and leave your luggage. Trek to Tatopani (hot springs) (1 ½ hours) for a refreshing bath. Return to Chalish village. Chalish is inhabited by Gurung, Ghale, and Kami people. Experience their unique customs, dances, and craftsmanship. Gurung men wear vangra. Visit Sri Tinkanya Devi Mandir. Chalish is known for its friendly locals and young individuals engaged in the tourism industry.

Day 7 Chalish to Ukhum (lunch) - Jharlang (Ungul) 3000 m/9900Ft.

After breakfast, trek to Mani Danda (30 minutes) for stunning views of the Ganesh Himal ranges. Pass through Deul Danda, Gobre village, and Chhap Danda. Rock climbing is possible at Bandari Bhir. Arrive at Borang village, predominantly inhabited by Tamang people. Continue to Ukhum for lunch, then trek through Lishne jungle and cross a suspension bridge. Pass Chhapchyat village and reach Jharlang village, known for its panoramic mountain views and Tamang culture.

6-7 hrs

Day 8 Jharllang Gaun to Darkha Gaun 850m/ 2805Ft.

After breakfast, trek downhill for about 2 ½ hours, passing paddy terraces and enjoying the surrounding landscapes. Cross suspension bridges and admire breathtaking views of Ankhu Khola, Chyamchyat, and Ri village. Finally, reach Darkha Gaon, a mixed cultural village inhabited by Brahmin, Tamang, and Dalit communities.

6-7 hrs drive

Day 9 Darkha Gaun – Darkha Phedi to Dhading Besi – Kathmandu 1310m/4323ft.

After breakfast, trek downhill for 45 minutes to Darkha Phedi. From there, take a shared local Jeep with other passengers and enjoy a 3-4 hour zig-zag drive to Dhading Besi, experiencing breathtaking scenic views along the way. Cross Ankhu Khola, Kimdang Phedi, Katunje, and Jyamrung villages. In Dhading Besi, switch to another bus for a 3-hour drive back to Kathmandu.
